From internship to product designer, evolving a team wellness platform
A tool to help teams check in on how they’re feeling, inspired by Spotify’s health check model.

Project background
As part of the final stage of my studies, I completed a 3-month internship at Reon — (spoiler alert: I got hired afterwards and stayed for 3–4 years!).
During my internship, my team was assigned to design and develop a desktop version of the TeamTrends app. The mobile app had already been launched, but the goal was to create a desktop experience for facilitators, giving them a better overview of the results.
Although another designer had already created the branding and initial UI, the app was confusing to use. Every time it was used internally, the facilitator had to explain how it worked. So during my final weeks of the internship, I took a weekend to redesign the entire app with a focus on improving usability.
Our internship design sprint (back in 2020)
Fast forward 2–3 years...
We decided to invest more time and resources into the project. I redesigned both the facilitator’s desktop view and the team members’ experience. Instead of building an app for team members, we simplified the process — they would simply receive a link to complete the check-in. There was no need for a separate app on their device.

So, let’s jump into the new redesign. This used to be a full app but turned out it was completely unnecessary so it became a simple web link.
The team members view
First-time users go through a quick onboarding process.
They respond to two statements (one positive, one negative) by sliding a smiley toward the one they agree with more.
Optionally, they can leave an anonymous comment for the facilitator.
After submitting, they see a final screen showing their answers, which they can keep open while the facilitator discusses overall results with the team.
Below is new feature we added that only the facilitator has access to. These features were added and adjusted after getting feedback from few project managers and other team leaders.
The facilitator view
he facilitator could see how many team members have joined the check and how many have answered each statement.
Also, when the facilitator has ended the check he gets up a result screen where he can see the trend from previous checks, write comment, create actionables and discuss the statements with the team and go over any anonymous comment that was written by the team members.
The overview screen allows facilitators to track trends over time, compare results across teams, manage check-ins, and review actionables.
